j-index (Mikhailov)

Mikhailov's j-index (Mikhailov 2014) falls between the h-index and the h(2)-index. Rather than requiring each publication in the core to have h or h2 publications, respectively, it requires them to have j3/2:

$$j=\underset{i}{\max}\left(\text{floor}\left(i^{3/2}\right) \leq C_i\right).$$

Example

Publications are ordered by number of citations, from highest to lowest.

floor(i3/2)12581114182227313641465258647076
j = 5

The largest rank where i ≤ Ci is 5.
